This webinar drew on a recent study by TFA and LTKL on local governments’ commitments for sustainable land use in 53 districts, provinces, and states in Indonesia and Malaysia. Participants heard directly from the research team at LTKL, representatives of local governments in East Kalimantan province and Musi Banyuasin district in South Sumatra, and representatives from the private sector and civil society organisations.

The webinar did a deep-dive on practical ways for companies to engage in landscape and jurisdictional initiatives and what claims they could make. Participants heard directly from companies that have taken concrete action in key commodity-producing landscapes.

Drawing on recently published guidance to companies including UNDP’s Value Beyond Value Chains and Proforest’s Engaging with Landscape Initiatives, the webinar was an opportunity to get a strong understanding of these important elements, and to hear directly from companies on their own experiences.

The webinar showcased lessons learned from implementing LTKL's Regional Competitiveness Framework (KDSD in Indonesian) in three pilot districts in Indonesia: Siak in Riau province, Sintang in West Kalimantan, and Gorontalo in Gorontalo.
