SourceUp launches new download to simplify CDP reporting on landscape engagement

Companies engaging in landscape and jurisdictional initiatives can now use SourceUp to simplify part of their CDP forest disclosure process, with pre-filled reporting inputs based on the information already available in supported initiative profiles.

CDP is a global non-profit that runs the world’s only independent environmental disclosure system. Each year, tens of thousands of companies report their environmental impacts through CDP’s questionnaires, including on forests, water, and climate. The Forest Questionnaire includes a section specifically on landscape and jurisdictional initiatives (section 8.15), where companies are asked to document the initiatives they support and their role within them.

For sustainability teams, reporting on landscape engagement often means gathering information from multiple initiatives, checking details across different formats, and translating local progress information into corporate disclosure requirements. This can be time-consuming, especially for companies supporting several initiatives.

To address this challenge, SourceUp has launched a new feature. Companies supporting landscape initiatives that use the platform can now download a pre-filled Excel file containing the data points needed for CDP section 8.15.2.

Why this matters

·        For companies: it saves time, improves completeness, supports stronger and more comprehensive CDP disclosure, helps internal teams demonstrate the value of landscape engagement.

·        For landscape and jurisdictional initiatives: it reduces repeated data requests from company partners, increases the usefulness of the information they already publish on SourceUp, and frees up time for implementation and impact.

·        For the broader landscape approach: it helps make landscape engagement more practical and reportable, helping it to become a more mainstream responsible sourcing strategy.

What’s included

The download contains:

  • A pre-filled Excel file with the data points from each initiative’s SourceUp profile, organised around the questions in CDP section 8.15.2.
  • An Initiative Snapshot PDF for each supported initiative. This is a one-page summary that can be attached directly for question 8.15.2.7.

Data is pulled automatically from landscape initiative profiles on SourceUp.

How to access it

For companies with a SourceUp profile, the feature is available in the Supported Initiatives section of the buyer dashboard. Clicking the Download button reveals two options: Excel Download and Input for CDP Forest Questionnaire. Selecting the second option displays a brief information screen before the download begins.
