This Jurisdictional Action Network webinar was organised in collaboration with the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF), CDP and Proforest. The webinar shared the results of a recent study conducted by TFA, Proforest and CDP on company landscape engagement in cocoa that found at least 29 midstream and downstream companies have invested in at least 20 landscape initiatives in cocoa producing areas.
Building on the results of the study, the panelists discussed the evolving business case to invest in landscapes. Mondelēz International presented this from a private sector perspective, while WCF then shared their insights into the implementation of these landscape initiatives from an implementer’s perspective, explaining how you can move from initial conception to pilot stage. Finally, as part of the panel discussion insights from the ground were shared by Proforest, highlighting the opportunities and challenges that arose in the Asunafo-Asutifi landscape programme in Ghana.
The webinar concluded, highlighting some of the the key recommendations from the study presented by CDP. These were broken down into recommendations for midstream and downstream companies specifically, as well as all stakeholders involved in landscape initiatives.
