Sustainable Orinoquia Pact Fact Sheet
Please note this publication is available in Spanish only. The Sustainable Orinoquia Pact is a multi-stakeholder alliance that seeks to consolidate a joint vision and effort between the environmental sector and the main productive sectors of the Orinoquia. The Pact identifies the comprehensive management of biodiversity and ecosystem services, water security and landscapes with low greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, as articulating axes that guide development where communities and sectors coexist and prosper.
To achieve its objectives, the Pact creates a space for dialogue and participation for multiple sectors: national and regional government, private sector, academia, multilateral organizations, research institutions and civil society organizations, which have and will have a presence and activities in the Orinoquia. Each sector is committed to focusing its actions in the territory to reconcile and align the interests of conservation, production and social welfare, achieving profits for nature, profits for society and profits for the sectors. This informative document explains more about the Orinoquia Sustainable Pact initiative and plans for transformative interventions of the Pact guided by a roadmap.
