The three-minute video, produced in Bahasa Indonesia, highlights the potential of implementing EFT from districts to incentivise better environmental protection at village level. This model has been implemented in Jayapura district in Papua, Nunukan in North Kalimantan, and Siak in Riau. A similar mechanism has also been trialled at provincial level in North Kalimantan to provide incentives to districts and municipalities. The performance criteria used were reduction of forest fire, protection of water and air resources, waste management, and the availability of green spaces.
