In this Landscapes Lab session speakers highlighted key findings from two critical studies based on the recent LandScale assessment for the Alto Mayo landscape in San Martin, Peru. First, a validated Roadmap for Alto Mayo which was co-developed with public and private stakeholders, highlighting opportunities for landscape collaboration on sustainability challenges. Second, complementary research assessed the local initiatives to tackle expected impacts of the upcoming European Union Deforestation Regulation on Alto Mayo’s coffee production, offering recommendations to foster landscape-level collaboration for EUDR compliance.
The Landscape Lab is a collaborative effort between the Sustainable Coffee Challenge and the ICO Coffee Public-Private Taskforce (TWS4) to promote the uptake of landscape- and jurisdictional initiatives in coffee producing regions. The Landscape Lab is financially supported through the World Bank led GEF FOLUR program.
